Honestly, it's a bit mystifying to me now. MKR was one of the first anime I ever saw in its entirety, and I was fairly young at the time. Ascot just struck me was very adorable, even with all his evil posturing and monsters and such. And he was so upset whenever they died. I just got very attached to him as time went on.

And strangely, that's all there is to it. :O I'm not sure how else I can explain it. He's just a cute kid and he inspires a kind of motherly "awww" reaction in me, what can I say.
