Now yer wondering (if ya read da info) "What in da heck is so appealin about this little boy ta ya, Zar?"
So here's my little explanation. Here's (as best as I can remember) da times and reactions I had when Ascot did certain things.

First time I saw him (Intro)
Me: Wait...was that a little kid I saw there? Does he come in later on?
Friend: He's a bad guy.
Me: Really? A little kid is a bad guy? Cool! Never heard of that.

Then I sorta fergot about him, cause he didn't come in fer a long time.

First REAL Appearance (When he first came in)
Me: What's his name?
Friend: Ascot.
Me: Why's he workin fer Zagato?
Friend: Ya'll see.
Me: He dresses funny. ::giggle::

Wow...amazin, isn't it?

When Atlante Died
Me: Oooooh! ::sounds of sympathy:: That's so sad!
Friend: He killed Presea, ya know.
Me: She sucked anyway. How saaaad! He's crying! Those Magic Knights suck. That was just mean.
Friend: ::rolls eyes::

When Ascot kept failing again...and again...
Me: This is so depressing! I want him ta win!
Friend: He's a bad guy, they don't "win".
Me: I want them ta stop killin his monsters! I want em ta stop makin him cry! It's sad and mean! I like Ascot.
Friend: I knew this would happen...

When Ascot sat on da floor and said "Sorry" ta Zagato
Me: Awwwww...he looks so pathetic...that's really cute.
Friend: I'll agree with ya there. He does look sad.
Me:Uh oh...what does that dork Alcione want?
Friend: Uh...ya don't wanna know...

When Alcione killed one of Ascot's Monsters, froze him, then got trounced (again!)
Me: HEEEY! ALCIONE! Did ya see that?! She killed his monster! She KILLED IT! SHE SUCKS! Ascot! Ascot should kill her now. I can't believe she did that. Stupid Alcione...Ascot was so innocent..he didn't even see if coming!
Friend: Calm down...
Me: No! That was unfair! Poor Ascot...YOU SUCK, ALCIONE! ::when Magic Knights beat her AGAIN:: Yeah! Ya show her! Kill her now!
Friend: ::sighs::

When Umi slapped Ascot
Me: ::gasp, utter look of horror::
Friend: Ya okay? ::waves hand in front of eyes::
Me: I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT! DON'T TOUCH HIM, UMI!
Friend: Calm down! Jeez.
Me: That was just mean! I hope Ascot is alright. I really do...he's so cute.
Friend: Uh oh.

When Ascot seemed ta show a "likin" fer Umi
Me: NO! NO! She's WRONG fer him! She's not good enough fer ya, Ascot!
Friend: Sheesh, he's too young anyway...

When Ascot jumped in front of Caldina's sword strike
Me: Aww! He's so cute! He wanted ta save da Magic Knights! Aww.
Friend: ::gives me weird look::

When Ascot woke up from being frozen in time and shouted "Don't hurt them!"
Me: AWWWW!
Friend: That is pretty cute, I hafta say.

When Ascot and Caldina look up near da end
Me: Aww. He's so adorable. I love him.
Friend: God! This is a highly dramatic and important moment with Zagato and Emeraude and yer payin more attention ta ASCOT!
Me: He's so cute.

And there ya have it. ^_^ That's how I got ta like him.
Here are some more tangible reasons.
1. His clothes. He's so cute in that big, floppy hat. ^_^
2. His story. It's so saaaaad....It just made me want ta hug him.
3. His voice. Since my friends copy was subtitled and stuff, I've only heard his japanese voice (and only want to, really). It was so cute...it really fit him. But then again, I can't remember things very well.
4. His monsters. Soooo cool looking!
5. His plain cuteness. When he was saying sorry to Zagato? I coulda died! Everythin he does is cute just cause he's a little kid. So adorable.
6. That little Floaty-Rock thingy. That thing is so cool. It's so cute he uses it to make himself tall enough ta talk ta his monsters.
7. His relationship with his monsters. Enough ta make ya scream and wanna hug him. He loves them so much. It's so cute. From his throwing of da little energy ball fer Atlante, weeping at Atlante's death, givin da snail thingy Alcione's "strength potion" and his reaction...SO CUTE!
8. Da Intro. He's so adorable in that. ^_^
9. His hair. I love how it goes over his eyes. It makes him look really innocent and cute. I don't think he would be half as cute with a haircut.
10. His relationship with Caldina. He's so adorable...it's like she's his mom or something. Always so hesitant and pleading. "Let's not go after da Magic Knights...let's do somethin else...please? Please, can't we go home?"

I could think of more, but I'm probably borin ya. ^_^ I just love him... he's oh so cute.
