Kay, I bet yer all wondering "Who is this Ascot person and what's his whole past thingy?"
Da Anime (Magic Knights Rayearth, of course) starts when Ascot is already underneath Zagato's command. I'm assuming right now that ya've watched at least SOME of da Anime and know who I'm talkin about. If not...^_^o.
Note, there are some spoilers(about Ascot) here, so don't read on if yer in da middle of it or somethin...
ANYWAY, onta da STORY...
See, first da Magic Knights (Hikaru, Umi, Fuu...) had ta fight this lady called Alcione. They whomped on her majorly every time they fought her and (most of da time) learned somethin new. Anyway, since in this Anime da bad Guys pretty much progress linearly, Alcione was deemed a failure and kicked out and replaced with Ascot. ^_^ He was so cute when he first appeared. My first reaction was "Aww."
ANYWAY, Ascot decided that Alcione sucked majorly anyway (somethin fairly obvious) and that da Magic Knights would be no problem fer him. Meanwhile, da three are gettin their special weapons made by this lady called Presea. So Ascot (it's dark, just as a note) appears outside the place where she hangs out, and summons a monster named Atlante. Creating a little red energy ball, he throws it at da town.
"Fetch!" he says. (This was almost unbearably cute. ^_^)
So Atlante goes. If I remember correctly (I haven't watched MKR in over a year) it lands in someone's chest...I think Presea's. Which means that Atlante hasta go kill Presea ta get da ball back. Ascot, probably aware that this happened, yawns in da woods and decides ta take a nap. (cute!)
Of course, da Magic Knights, having their new weapons, watch Atlante kill Presea and then kill Atlante as revenge.
Meanwhile, that elfy guy that hangs out with Zagato (his name escapes me now) asks Ascot where his monster is. Ascot wakes up (cute!) and tells him that Atlante is killing the Magic Knights. Elfy-Guy (Dang, what was his name...Innova or somethin?) says he should go check. Da Magic Knights are LONG gone when he goes down there on his floaty-rock and he sees Atlante's dead body. (Note: This nearly made me cry when I watched it) Ascot, stunned, falls to the ground and starts ta cry. Tears fallin from his eyes (yes, ya DO see em here!), he swears he'll kill da Magic Knights fer killin his friend.
It just gets sadder and sadder as Ascot keeps sending monster after monster after da Magic Knights and they keep gettin killed. Everytime he's devastated and swears more revenge.
One thing I remember now is that that STUPID lady Alcione, who was locked inna waterfall fer bein such a spaz, wants ta come out and kill da Magic Knights (like THAT'LL ever happen). So, since Ascot screwed up with Atlante(I think...although I don't think havin yer friend killed is screwin up, personally...) he had ta apologize ta Zagato. He was sittin on da floor lookin SOOOOOOOO CUTE that I nearly screamed. He looked so pathetic and sad. Elfy-Guy says "What do we we say ta Zagato-Sama?" and Ascot, reluctantly and sadly, says "Sorry." That was so cuuuute...
Anyway, Alcione (that dork) talks ta Ascot and tricks him, sayin she can make his monsters really strong if he'll let her out. Bein da innocent little boy he is, he lets her out. His next monster, a snail thingy who's name escapes me at da moment, is da victim of Alcione's treachery. She gives Ascot a little potion, tellin him it'll boost his monster's strength.
So Ascot trustingly takes it and floats up ta da snail-thingy's height on his little floaty-rock.
"Here ya go..." he says. He offers it to it, but it doesn't wanna take it.
"Come on...ya hafta eat it ta be strong. Please?" (that was SO cute).
Finally da Snail-Thingy eats it and then Ascot smiles at it...then Alcione laughs and da Snail-Thingy is completly frozen, killing it instantly. See, Alcione uses Ice Magic and da potion was a trick. Ascot looked so horrified and confused, I felt so bad fer him...
"[Snail-Thing's name]! Noo!" he said, lookin near tears. Alcione laughs (God, I wanna punch her now) and then casts a spell at Ascot while he's helplessly confused and sad, freezin him solid. She then leaves him next ta his now dead friend and goes off ta try and kill da Magic Knights, who beat da crud out of her. Good, I say. ^_^ I felt so bad fer Ascot after that tho...
So eventually, (I'm tryin ta remember...it's been a VERY long time), Ascot attacks da Magic Knights one last time, this time capturing Hikaru and Fuu. Umi draws her sword and asks Ascot why he's doing this to her friends. Ascot replies that it's because these monsters are his friends. Umi asks why he works fer Zagato, and he says it's because everyone is afraid of his monsters and won't come near him and want to kill them, when really they're nice. Zagato promised him someplace for him and his friends to stay where they wouldn't be hurt. Ascot then declares that in return for killing all his friends, he's gonna kill Umi's.
Umi walks straight up ta Ascot, who's sorta frightened, and SLAPS HIM! (Note: I was shouting at my TV right now "DON'T TOUCH HIM, UMI!") Ascot, with frightened tears in his eyes, listens to Umi's somewhat sappy lecture about his monsters. If, she claims, he keeps making his friends to evil things, then they will become evil, blah blah blah...anyway, then Umi asked him what his name was. Ascot said his name, then Umi said somethin like "What? Yer name is [somethin, I ferget]?" and Ascot gets really embarrassed and says it again. Gosh, if ya slap someone ya could at least learn their name.
So, Ascot swears that he'll stop being evil. And he gives Umi a WEIRD look. I think this is where he supposedly falls fer her. Me, I think she's not good enough fer him, but that's just cause I love him so much. ^_^
ANYWAY, da next in da line of Baddies is Caldina, a lady who views Ascot much like her son. I think she takes care of him, or at least my sub-concious mind does (read my Ascot dream in da Fanfic section). She loves money.
Anyway, ::tries ta remember:: Ascot follows her around and asks her why they hafta fight da Magic Knights. She says fer Money. Ascot doesn't think it's a good idea and tries VERY hard to make Caldina do somethin else (his little pleas were sooo cute...)
I remember one sequence, I think, where Caldina had Hikaru and Umi possessed and told them to attack Fuu, who was horrified. So was Ascot, actually.
He was begging Caldina to stop. (VERY cute)
I remember two things happening...I think this one comes first tho. Caldina has Fuu pinned or somethin (Gosh, I can't remember a lot of this! ^_^o) and is about ta stab her with her sword, when lo and behold, whose rock should come inbetween them! Ascot! He flew his little floaty-rock inbetween Fuu and da Sword ta save them. If I remember correctly, he said "No! Don't hurt her! Let's go do somethin else!" Or somethin like that.
He was SOOO adorable then...
I remember another sequence where Caldina is walkin along and tellin Hikaru and Umi ta attack Fuu, and Ascot finally leaps at her cloak and attaches himself there, begging her to stop. Fuu stops time (I think...) and when it starts again, Hikaru and Umi are safe and away, but Ascot is still a little behind. While the Magic Knights watch, Ascot shouts "No! Don't hurt the Magic Knights!" then blinks and realizes where he was. (CUUUUTE)
I'm tryin ta remember other things that happened ta him...hmmm...all I remember is near da end, there's a quick shot of him and Caldina lookin at da Sky. Even tho this was a super dramatic part, I was goin "Aww."
ANYWAY, da basic gist of da whole thing is...
Ascot is a monster summoner. However, Monsters have gotten a bad rep (as usual) and wherever that cute little boy goes, everyone is frightened of him and wants to hurt him and his monsters. Lonely and afraid, I would think, Zagato makes da allurin promise that if he works fer him, then he'll have a place ta stay. This may be where he and Caldina met. Not accordin ta my dream, anyway, but still, it could be. ^_^
Since I only saw da first series, I know nothin about da second one except that since in Cephiro, yer will determines everythin, Ascot gets an idea. When da Magic Knights come back, Ascot wishes himself ta be about 21 years old or somethin. Well, that's how old he looks. ^_^o I like him small, myself. Anyway, he does that so he can impress Umi. What does she do? Ignore him. Ooo. Grr...poor Ascot. He's so shy he can't even talk around her. Darn that Umi. First she smacked him, then she seduced him, then she ignores him. Grr!
ANYWAY, that was my sparse knowledge of Ascot. I wish I had da tapes myself, but they were lent ta me by a friend and we watched all of them in one go then never again. That was over a year ago. ^_^o She got them bootleg of some guy who was sellin them from his car, so I've never seen ANY in stores. Until now. ^_^ I wish I could get them. ^_^o Oh well.
